Charlotte Baker, assistant professor of epidemiology in the Department of Population Health Sciences, and Tosin Ogunmayowa, PhD student in the Biomedical and Veterinary Sciences PhD program, presented their poster, "Application of multilevel modeling in sports and recreational injuries studies,” at the VCOM Via Research Day. Their presentation reviewed the way researchers have used multilevel modeling to look at sports and recreation-related injury.

Michelle Theus, associate professor of molecular and cellular neurobiology in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and Pathobiology, presented "Advancing Basic and Translational Research for Traumatic Brain Injuries" at the National Capital Area Traumatic Brain Injury Research Symposium sponsored by the National Institutes of Health. Her presentation explored how brain-peripheral immune crosstalk is crucial for restoring function after traumatic brain injury.
