When did you join the college?

2018

The best part of being faculty is …

Getting to work with students in all aspects of my job. It is amazing to see their progression from the first year in cow labs (some touching them for the first time) to the fourth year, where they are helping to diagnose and treat them.

Best advice I've gotten …

Always be willing to try something new! Somehow... down the line... you end up being known as the "expert" on something weird just because you weren't afraid to see it!

How would you capture the essence of your work in a newspaper headline?

Doctor nearly avoids being blinded by bull semen!

My hidden talent...

I'm not sure if there are any "hidden" ones... but I can deliver kids and lambs pretty quickly!

A person who has inspired me...

Dr. Clark - she is the one who helped me to get this job!

Words of encouragement to a current veterinary college student...

I know it seems hard now, but try to enjoy your time here – one day, you will look back on it and somehow miss the long nights of studying with your friends

One misconception that all students seem to have is...

That we (clinicians) know everything off the top of our heads, there are plenty of things I still have to go look up!

If I had a superpower, it would be..

I mean... flying would be cool... and super convenient.

This excites me the most about the future of my industry...

I love how powerful the young generation is. They strive for better work-life balance, and I think we will see improvements in the mental well-being of future veterinarians as a result.

A cause I'm most passionate about...

Teaching students. They are here at the expense of a lot of time and money, and I try to let them make the most of it.

Favorite way to end the day...

Snuggling with my daughter before bed.

Top of my bucket list...

Visiting the Galapagos islands (to see the tortoises) or doing a cruise around Antarctica

My favorite quote…

"On your left..." (From Avengers Endgame, when all the superheroes show up to help defeat the bad guys!)

How many pets/animals live at home?

One dog and two cats
