Tanya Mitjans, DVM

Dr. Tanya Mitjansis a resident in Emergency and Critical Care at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Florida in 2022. After graduation, Tanya moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, where she spent two years in general practice before transitioning to emergency medicine with Veterinary Emergency Group.

Her clinical interests include acute stabilization, analgesia in the emergent setting, and willing to see any exotic animal emergency!

Born in Chile and a native Spanish speaker, Tanya has traveled to over 20 countries and enjoys exploring new cultures, especially through food. Outside the hospital, she enjoys spending time anywhere warm with turquoise waters, and shares a home with her husband and their six pets.
