Vaidehi Paranjape, Natalia Henao-Guerrero, Giulio Menciotti, F. Garcia-Pereira, and C. Ricco-Pereira have published "Comparison of cardiac output measurements using esophageal doppler and transesophageal echocardiography with thermodilution in anesthetized dogs" in Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia.

Comparison of cardiac output (CO) values measured by esophageal doppler (EDPCO) and transesophageal echocardiography (TEECO) with thermodilution (TDCO) was performed during various hemodynamic states in anesthetized dogs. The study concluded that for minimally invasive CO monitoring in anesthetized dogs, TEE may provide more-favorable performance than EDP in clinical settings.

Paranjape is assistant professor of anesthesiology and pain management, Guerrero is service chief and associate professor of anesthesiology, and Menciotti is assistant professor of cardiology in the college's Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences, which is led by department head Guerrero.
