Mentor day

The Mentor Program, hosted by the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association (VVMA), the Maryland Veterinary Medical Association (MDVMA), and the West Virginia Veterinary Medical Association (WVVMA) provides mentorship opportunities between the college’s DVM students and practitioners across Virginia, Maryland, and West Virginia. Mentor Day activities will take place on Thursday, October 3 from 5:30-8 p.m. and continue on Friday, October 4 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m., with a lunch from 12-1 p.m..

Any veterinarian can be a mentor. It does not matter where or when you graduated from veterinary school, nor do you have to be a member of a state veterinary medical association. When you sign-up to be a mentor, the VVMA will assign you with one or more students. An opportunity to meet and interact with your mentee(s) occurs annually, in the fall, on “Mentor Day” It’s a wonderful way to give back to the students and prepare them for their future in veterinary medicine. Mentor registration will open in July!

Alumni challenge trophy and college promotional items.

Another year, another reunion class challenge!

Each reunion, we have an important focus: celebrating our alumni and promoting class connections. In support of that, we are making our reunion class challenge this year all about participation, friendly competition, and a chance for exclusive VMCVM swag. Whichever reunion year class (’84, ’89, ’94, ’99, ’04, ’09, ’14, ’19) has the most classmates participate, with a gift of any amount, wins!

Not only will this challenge be fun for all our reunion year classes, it will also make an impact on the future of the college. Whatever area at the college you choose to support, from the essential expansion and renovation of the veterinary teaching hospital to critical student scholarships, your gift will make a difference.

As an added bonus, the reunion year class that has the most classmates take part in the challenge will have their class name added to the Alumni Class Challenge trophy and each participating member of their class will get a swag pack mailed to them with exclusive VMCVM items.

We will open donations for the challenge in July!
