Alumni Board

The Board of Directors represent the voices of over 4,000 VMCVM alumni. Their involvement through the Board and participation in college events supports the engagement efforts of the broader alumni community and drives future programs and initiatives at the college. The board strives for a diverse representation of (up to 25) members across the college’s degree programs.

Awards

To recognize outstanding alumni accomplishments, we present two annual awards: The Lifetime Achievement Alumni Award and the Outstanding Recent Alumni Award. We also recognize an outstanding current faculty member with the Outstanding Faculty Alumni Award.

    Michelle Goodnight's path to veterinary medicine ran through NASA, Madagascar, and a 13-year Army career that included a year in northern Iraq treating military working dogs. Now she's back at her alma mater as a criticalist and clinical instructor in small animal clinical sciences.

    Meet Katherine Broaddus '83, DVM '86, a veterinarian with Broad Run Veterinary Service in Bluemont, Virginia. One of only a few women to finish the Vermont 100 both on horse and foot, she is passionate about exposing people to foxhunting and carriage driving to preserve those sports for the future. Broaddus said being an alum has allowed her unlimited access over the years to top doctors and advice without judgement. She encourages current veterinary students to do a complete history and physical examination to diagnose patients before implementing the help of modern technology.
