Colors and Fonts
The Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine is classified as a sub-brand of the Virginia Tech brand. In order to maintain a consistent college brand identity, we have our own official set of colors and fonts that are associated with our brand.
The rules for proper logo use supercede these color guidelines. Altering the colors or fonts of the college and university logos is not allowed.
COLOR MODES
- RGB color mode is used in the design of digital collateral, such as websites, video, slideshow presentations, and email.
- Hex codes represent a color in RGB format by combining three values: the amounts of red, green, and blue in a particular shade. Color hex codes are an integral part of HTML web design and a key way to present color formats digitally.
- CMYK color mode is used in the design of print communication, such as brochures, merchandise, and magazines.
- Pantone colors (PMS) are associated with a color-matching system, the Pantone Matching System.

The primary typeface for the college brand, Acherus Grotesque has 14 styles. It should be used in most cases for body text, headlines, sub-headlines, quotes, and callouts.
Gineso Condensed
Gineso Condensed can have multiple uses within the brand. Any of Gineso's seven different weights and matching italics can be combined with other typefaces.
Crimson Text
Crimson Text is reserved primarily for body copy and where the most formal mood needs to be expressed. A Google font, the full Crimson Text family contains five weights and two widths.
