Anonymous alumnus gives generously to create endowed scholarship
A graduate of the college has donated nearly $2 million to create a scholarship to fully support one or more students each year, starting in 2023. This gift is the largest ever made to the college by an alumnus and will have a significant impact on the lives of many future veterinarians.
Focusing on students who are well-rounded and have finished their first year of veterinary school, this scholarship is open to those interested in pursuing equine, food animal, or mixed track, meaning caring for small and large animals in the same practice. This gift will allow students to graduate with little or no debt, allowing them to make career choices with fewer financial constraints.
The donor chose to give because they had a very positive experience at the college and want to pay it forward. They also were afraid the profession would lose good candidates based on anticipated debt at graduation.
