Carolina Castaño Alvarez, DVM

Dr. Carolina Castaño Álvarezis a veterinarian originally from Colombia. She earned her veterinary degree in 2016 from Universidad del Tolima and later completed the ECFVG certification program, obtaining her U.S. veterinary license in 2023. Motivated by a strong passion for dermatology early in her career, she moved to the United States to pursue advanced training. She first completed a dermatology internship at Virginia Tech and is now continuing her professional development as a dermatology resident.

Dr. Castaño Álvarez has a special interest in managing canine atopic dermatitis, ear disease, and performing CO₂laser procedures.

Outside of veterinary medicine, Carolina enjoys traveling, staying active through workouts, and dancing.
