Dr. Lisa M Lee is an infectious disease epidemiologist and bioethicist. A former CDC official and director of President Obama’s bioethics commission, Lisa brings decades of federal and state public health experience to Virginia Tech, where she also serves as senior associate vice president of research and innovation. Her research focuses on integration of ethical decision-making into public health practice and research.

- An epidemiologist, bioethicist, and ethics educator, Dr. Lee is Virginia Tech's senior associate vice president for research and innovation, and director of the division of Scholarly Integrity and Research Compliance. Most recently, she served as the inaugural chief of bioethics at Walter Reed Army Institute of Research and, during the Obama administration, as executive director of the Presidential Bioethics Commission. For more than 25 years, Lee has worked in public health and ethics at the local, state, and federal levels, including 14 years at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
