Veterinary Students offer community dog wash on April 29
April 20, 2023
On April 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., students at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine will be hosting a Community Dog Wash event.
The dog wash, a well-liked community event, will occur at the rear of the veterinary college complex at 245 Duck Pond Drive. Participants will be directed to the site by signs on Southgate Drive and Duck Pond Drive, and there will be sufficient space for parking.
No appointments are needed, and dogs will be washed on a first-come, first-served basis while the owners wait. The cost of washing each dog is $15, and there are extra services like nail trimming for $10 and ear cleaning for $5.
Dogs participating in the event must be at least 5 months old, with current vaccinations, and on a leash. Proof of rabies vaccination is a must, and dogs without it will not be allowed to participate.
Proceeds from the event will support the college’s chapter of the Student American Veterinary Medical Association — a professional organization for DVM students — and the DVM class of 2026.
If you are an individual with a disability and desire an accommodation, please contact Daniel Fields or Alicia Pyne during regular business hours at least three business days prior to the event
